Teachers have a significant role to deal with special children which is not an easy task. They also have to recognise the unique needs of every special child which helps in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment that caters to each student’s individual requirements.

Inclusive education was started to create those environments for learning where all students, regardless of their abilities, disabilities, differences, can receive a quality education together to break down barriers, reduce stigma, and provide a more equitable educational experience for everyone involved.

Special children still have to face social challenges in mainstream schools. These challenges can include:

3. Social Interaction Difficulties: Mostly special children may struggle in interacting with their peers and teachers as well as they have deficits in social skills, communication pattern and difficulties in socio-emotional reciprocity which lead to difficulties in forming relationships age appropriately and thus connection with their classmates become harder too. They also do not understand anticipation of others from them in social situations. Difficulty in comprehending non verbal cues is also present in them. A

4. Isolation: Due deficits in understanding or awareness about the needs of the special children it might result in feelings of Isolation during group activities or social events.

5. Academic Pressure: Difficulty in pacing with the mainstream class academically in spite their learning differences, can lead to stress, anxiety, and frustration.

6. Lack of Accommodations: Inadequate support or accommodations can hinder abilities of special children to fully participate in class activities, which may make them feel excluded or overwhelmed.

7. Negative Attitudes: Presence of negative attitudes among students as well as teachers too towards special children can create an unwelcoming environment for them which reduces their motivation to study.

8. Reduced Self-Esteem: Constant challenges and feeling seperated from their peers might lead to reduced self-esteem and confidence in their abilities.

9. Difficulty Advocating for Themselves: Special children may struggle to communicate their needs, seek help, or express their feelings, making it harder for them to navigate social situations.

10. Lack of Peer Relationships: Forming meaningful relationship with classmates or peers can be tough for special children as they have trouble with social interactions which might lead to distant relationship with their peers.

Thus Children with disabilities have to encounter a range of challenges, including social integration, academic support, emotional well-being, and safety concerns. It is important for society to provide the necessary resources and understanding to help these children overcome these difficulties and thrive.
