We started seeing the benefits within a week. I used to have energy slump in the afternoon, but not anymore. Lot of overthinking is gone, much clarity in my mind as overthinking just drains us. I can focus much better on my child, a mentally-exhausted parenting is very tough, you are pushing yourself everyday like a rubber band, and we all know what happens to that rubber band. As there are no sugar spikes we are much more stable, physically and cognitively.

As one can see, in the picture above these are few of the benefits I wrote down. We are in this for life, so we will keep on reaping its benefits.
Vidusha had lot of plaque on of her teeth, all gone within few months. That was such a relief as taking her to a dentist is also a challenge. Imagine, how much time, energy & money we can save if we can cut down on these expenses. My teeth-sensitivities are also gone.
None of us at home have bad breath when we wake up in the morning. Bad breath is actually a sign of something rotting inside our stomach.
I call our diet, ‘miracle-diet’, we improved on our vision. My husband eye sight improved quite a bit. He doesn’t need to wear glasses for everyday use which he was wearing since childhood. Continuing with my husband’s benefits, his sleep apnea gone in just 3 days, it’s unbelievable that his snoring went away with just 3 days in the diet.
Our skin and hair are much better than earlier. I had lot of pigmentation on my face. 50% gone. Hairball reduced almost 80%. Me & my husband lost lot of weight esp the fat around our stomach. These are few visual changes which others noticed and told us.
Once people started seeing the benefits, they started asking. So, I chose 3 people and made a group of them and started suggesting changes in their pattern of eating, made changes in their diets and taught them how to plan their meals. That was their biggest learning as I cannot be with them lifelong, they have to take charge of their life. I made a group as it becomes a lonely journey. We live in an obesogenic environment, and we all have the need to belong. So making a group and sharing our respective challenges, changes , benefits was very rewarding. We learn from each other.
I was reading and learning a lot on Metabolic Health and its effect on Mental Health. I found lot of case studies of Keto diet curing epilepsy and I was surprised to find that it’s not suggested as first line of treatment.
Dr Russell Wilder, developed Ketogenic Diet in 1921 to make believe brain, the effects of fasting by eating certain foods.
I had a maid before COVID who has a NT girl with epilepsy. I talked to her about the diet. She was really struggling with her as no school will take her because of seizures and she had to lock her daughter at home to go for work. When I suggested the diet, she immediately agreed as now the girl is in her early 20s and that brings another set of challenges. Upon suggestion, she did few changes on her diet, and after doing it for a month itself, the frequency of seizures reduced. That was such a rewarding experience for me. I never felt that elated even when we saw benefits on us.
After that, I had case of a young ND boy from Plano, TX. His seizures were somewhat controlled because of the medications but he was mostly very groggy and lethargic, was gaining lot of weight, his immune system was weak. He would fall sick very often. Since he was a growing man, it was becoming difficult for parents to manage him. They worked on the diet suggested by me along with their Doctor. I’m happy to say that the frequency of his seizures have also reduced, he goes out with his Mom for walks and have started losing weight with the appropriate diet.
What more one can ask for?
Both the families are managing now on their own as they know how to plan their meals.
