See It, Do It, Share It!
The 100 Day Family Fun and Learning Lab

The seed planted for the Ananth’s Adventures channel through his story narration at his birthday celebration event organized by SpecialSaathi has led to the development of our 100 Days of Family Fun and Learning Lab for parents and educators.

Creating Happy Moments Together: See It, Do It, Share It!

Our primary goal for this 100 Day experience is for parents to enjoy experiences with their child.

Movement, music, and storytelling are tools for enjoying time with young children We are sharing such children’s videos regularly on Ananth’s Adventures. See the videos, try it with your children, and share your experience with us!

The 1 – 10 – 100 Rule

Choose 1 activity, do it for 10 minutes a day (or lesser in the beginning), and commit to creating happy moments for 100 days!

We are trying to support this process with our children’s movement and storytelling videos. You can also choose your own activity.

Example

In this blog post, I am sharing an example video from our channel and describing its use.

Activity 1. The Tree Song

Video Description

100 Days of Family Fun and Learning
This movement activity is a part of the Family Fun and Learning collection.

About the Video
The teacher and student are enjoying a movement activity. There is no specific goal being addressed. There is no specific skill being taught. Imitation-based learning allows the teacher to invite the learner into the experience and to allow them to engage it in a way that works for them.

Video Intros: See It, Do It, Share It!

Going forward, our intros will look as shown in the picture above. The call to action is there on the intro itself!

See It!

Some possibilities:
1) You may decide to do the full activity with your child,
2) You may get some ideas (e.g., gestures that you can use during a lesson on trees),
3) You may get ideas that you can use with some other movement video,
4) You may get ideas on teaching through imitation.

We encourage parents to watch all the videos we share.

Do It!
At this stage, every parent will use something they learned in their own way depending on their child’s point of learning.

Share It!
This step will enhance the value of the 100-Day lab for everyone. Sharing can take many forms:
1) watch the video and comment on what you learned and what you might use,
2) share what you tried (including a video), and
3) suggestions/requests for resources.

Creating Happy Moments with Theater Arts

You will also see our logo on the last page of every video. There are many ways to create happy moments. Going on a walk together, visiting people, and doing an activity of interest.

Theater Arts for Holistic Development (TAHD) is a structured way of creating happy moments.

Think about how we interact with babies and young children. We sing songs, move together, share stories, enact stories and engage in pretend play, and do arts and crafts. These are the five familiar tools of theater. TAHD is about mindful use of these tools to enjoy experiences together while addressing a variety of outcomes. Ananth and I are both TAHD ambassadors. Our TAHD experience started over 15 years ago through Waldorf and Enki, two educational approaches that are movement rich, arts-integrated, and story-rich approaches. TAHD has opened the doors to the use of such an approach for lifelong learning and not just a school curriculum. RASA (Ramana Sunritya Aalaya) has ND adult students who are engaged with TAHD throughout the day.

Creating Happy Moments through Homeschooling

The video lessons in our collection are by Sri Ujwal Jagadeesh, Senior Faculty and Artiste at the Ramana Maharshi Center for Learning (RMCL). Ujwal is an experienced TAHD facilitator. TAHD was developed by Dr. Ambika Kameshwar, Founder and Director of RASA (Ramana Sunritya Aalaya).
